Liquid-cooled overhead-valve single-cylinder 499cc four-stroke engine is mounted longitudinally in the frame, allowing direct drive-shaft alignment to front and rear wheels for improved drivetrain efficiency.
Liquid-cooling provides consistent engine operating temperature in extreme conditions for maximum power output and long engine life. Unique underhead camshaft (UHC(tm)) is located adjacent to the cylinder head, reducing engine height. Together with the external engine-oil tank, engine height is further reduced for a low center of gravity and improved handling. Four-valve cylinder head, with the UHC camshaft, utilizes two short pushrods to provide a broad powerband for optimum performance and engine efficiency. Unique dry-sump oiling system attaches the oil tank to the front of the engine cases, lowering engine height and allowing optimum engine placement for excellent ground clearance and superb handling.

We have just received our 3rd shipment of YS .63 FZ, and we are happy to report that these are sold out! We recommend a 12x7 APC prop turning at 10,500 on YS 20/20 fuel. The test flying was done at 5000 feet in elevation so your numbers may vary. R/C Modeler Magazine engine guru Clarence Lee has tested the 63 for an upcoming product review and is very impressed by its performance. One of his comments was that this engine topped the other brands of engine in this size category by 800 to 1000 RPM.
